Kalam's Ten Commandments

  1. I will pursue my education with dedication and I will excel in it.
  2. I will teach at least 10 Persons to read and write who at present cannot do so.
  3. I will plant at least 10 sapling and shall ensure their growth through constant care.
  4. I will visit rural and urban areas and permanently weak at least five persons from addiction and gambling.
  5. I will constantly endeavour to remove the pain of my suffering brethren
  6. I will not support any communal or language differentiation.
  7. I will be honest and set an example for other to follow
  8. I will work for becoming an enlightened citizen
  9. I will always be a friend of the mentally and physically challenged and work hard to make them feel normal, like the rest of us
  10. I will proudly celebrate the success of my country and my people.

Periodic Self - Evaluation

  • Do you take a genuine interest in the day - to - day progress of your child?
  • Do you check his/ her homework?
  • Do you spend sufficient time with your child each day / weekend?
  • What are your expectations from your child?
  • Is your reaction negative if he / she fails to meet your expectations?
  • Do you send him/ her to school neatly dressed?
  • Do you give him/ her breakfast before he/ she leaves for school?
  • Do you take the trouble to prepare Tiffin for him/ her?
  • Do you send your child to school with the helper or do you see him/ her off to school?
  • Do you help your child to follow a study schedule?
  • Do you encourage him/ her to take tuitions?
  • Do you think it is important to look into your child's studies?
  • Do you encourage the viewing of education programmes at home?
  • When Your child is studying , do you constantly send him/ her out on errands?
  • Do You Check the T.V. Programmes watched by your child? Do you have any control over this?
  • Do you uphold the goals and values of the school?
  • Do you meet the teachers regularly?
  • Do you visit the school when called?
